Lagging and opening break
Use this section for your standard house lag procedure. It stays visible so players can see it quickly on a phone before the match starts.
Players place balls behind the foot string, shoot simultaneously toward the head rail, and the ball stopping closest to the foot rail wins the opening break.
Formal league lag procedures may differ, so posted house rules should control unless the event director announces otherwise.
Default posted conditions
- Touching either side cushion / long rail.
- Crossing the center line into the opponent’s side.
- Pocketing the lag ball.
- Double-hitting the far rail.
- Jumping the ball off the table.
This is ideal for tournaments and challenge matches where you want the opening procedure posted clearly before play starts.
